Fraser

Ch. Clansmen Fraser McQ, CD, TT (1984-1996) - Fraser came to SureShot at the age of 18 months. He was the first Gordon, since George that typified that noble demeanor that I'd thought was the essence of being Gordon. A great ambassador for the breed, Fraser would try anything. His show career had numerous highlights : BW at the Tri-Setter Club of Alberta Specialty, a 5-point major with a BW win at the Greeley,CO, GSCA Specialty (handled by his breeder Dick Quaco), and several group placements in Canada. He became my new scent hurdle dog and, while he was a bit casual in the speed at which he took his jumps, he was always reliable at finding his dumbell. A quick learner, he picked up his CD easily but, in his usual laid-back manner, the scores weren't too exciting. We dabbled in tracking, agility and bird work. Whatever I asked of him, he was willing to try.

He was the "perfect dog", one you could always count on, who had the common sense to judge a situation properly, and a dog that was totally loyal. His eyes told a story that could melt your heart and, to me, his exquisite head summed up the "look". His headshot has graced magazine covers, trophies, and is the one I've chosen to use in our kennel logo. When I think Gordon, I think of Fraser.
