Ch. Sureshot Clansmen Camorra (1989-1994) - Parker was a truly special girl. The loss of Parker was made more poignant because she was one of the few dogs I've lost at a young age. Having enjoyed Gordons that lived to 15 years, I found the devastating news of her lymphosarcoma incomprehensible. Parker was also the most beautiful dog (by my standards) that I've ever bred, endowed with an exquisite head, beautiful colour and lovely outline. I hope the pictures I've put on her page do her justice. As for her show career, she started out at the GSCC National as a Junior Puppy and walked away with Best Puppy in Specialty and Reserve Winners Bitch. From there, it was off to the US for her first American show and the GSCA Specialty in Greeley, CO where she won her class in sweeps and a 3rd in the regular classes. Her Canadian Championship quickly followed. After a period out of the ring to mature, she returned as a Special and earned a Group II under Ann Rogers Clark her first weekend out. While these wins hint of what she might have done, her show career never happened. My fondest memories were her last few months while she took her illness in much better stride than I. I still see her carrying her beloved stuffed "fur-rat" around at all times and I can smile at the quick intelligence that enabled her to learn to turn on the taps in our bathroom to get a drink of water. Although her place on the bed is now occupied, her place in our hearts will always belong to Parker. |
