BIS/BISS Am.Can.Ch. Clansmen Classic (1986-1999) - Possum's place in our lives is truly beyond describing here. Although as a young bitch, she wasn't all that comfortable in the showring, when she was later paired with her handler, Teri Taplin, she lived to show. That attitude helped her achieve the position of top winning Gordon bitch in our breed in Canada, a record she still holds. Happy in our home and playing in the backyard, she nevertheless was at her happiest when in the ring and the applause started.

Memorable show achievements: finishing her championship by going BOB from the classes over Specials at the Tri-Setter Booster and then BOS to her Dad at the Specialty the same day. As a young bitch, with me at the other end of the lead, she won a 5 point major at the GSCA Specialty in Greeley, CO., numerous group placements, Best of Breed at the GSCC National Specialty, Top Gordon in Canada, Best in Show winner...the memories are endless.

Her career was stopped by a twisted elbow during a confrontation with a gopher hole. Although she was already almost eight, she had the desire to show but no longer the ability. Her life had always seemed plagued with accidents: a sliced foot from an unseen piece of tin, a horrible infection from a scratch inflicted by a wandering farm cat, a twig jammed in her face; it was always one crisis after another. In spite of that, the one word that would characterize her was feisty and, underlying that exterior was a devoted companion that showed her affection to those that passed muster. A dog greatly missed.
