| Am. Can. Ch. SureShot Flying Spur, TT If you're going to be named Bentley, your registered name really needs to reflect the best of that luxury car line. We thought it was a lovely name for this lovely dog. Bentley started in the show ring with one BOB for his first two points. The plans for his puppy excursions got cut a bit short when he managed to break away from his owner in pursuit of a bird and found himself on the 'ouch' end of a moving vehicle. It was a scary four days for everyone involved as veterinarians worked to save his life and stabilize him as air escaped from his lungs. Hard work and persistence paid off as Bentley rallied and recovered. It took awhile for the hair to grow back but he definitely forgot his short encounter with adventure and we're all looking forward to seeing him live a long, long life after this. He got back into the ring in 2008 and capped the year off with a nice new Can. Ch. Bentley now makes his home in California with Dianna and Bob Ellis where he romps and plays in the heat with the other Gordons at Bluewin. On his first outing there, he was entered in a Temperament Test where he proudly walked away with a new TT title. Then, a few weekends later, he started to make inroads on his American Championship with three Winners Dog and Two Best of Winners awards for a total of 6 points (including his first major). That nice streak was then topped off when he got his OFA hip ratings...Good! At the Golden Gate Gordon Setter Specialty in California, August 28, 2010, Bentley picked up his fourth major win, with a 4 pt Winners Dog/Best of Winners that finished his American Championship.
