Echo started off being one of the most "interesting" dogs I've ever trained but we stuck with it and she finally became a very consistent although not fast agility partner. I figure some of my best learning was from dogs that didn't follow the book instructions so she's been a real gift. We also played a bit in the showring and quickly wrapped up a championship early in 2008. She made her debut in the agility ring that year, qualifying in all her runs and coming home with two brand new titles at her first CKC trial, a NAC from her first NADAC trial and then, a short while later, became the first Gordon in Canada to earn both her CKC Intermediate Standard and Intermediate Jumper Weavers titles. Following that, she picked up her first title at an AAC trial as well and then because the first Gordon in Canada with her CKC Excellent Standard title Unfortunately, Echo has some back problems and that means regular trips to the Rehab clinic in town (that recommended she keep going in agility because of the benefit for her mind and physical condition). I envy her the lovely massage and laser treatments she got there and hope it will ensure a long agility career for her.
