Zoe's fun at the NACA shows and trials
As always, I'd over-committed Zoe with too many
entries on the NACA weekend by entering her in both conformation and agility.
There was no conflict on the Friday but we were without competition in
conformation. Still, Zoe showed beautifully and looked very pretty.
The next day, we had two agility
trials besides conformation and lousy weather to contend with. The first trial
was first thing in the morning and we got soaked. It was the first time we'd
attended an outdoor trial and the good news was that Zoe ran so well. The only
problem was having off-moments on the table and the difficulty in maintaining
her stay there meant we timed out and didn't qualify. I was thrilled with how
she ran though.
In the afternoon, our
conformation class was on at the same time as the walk through for agility. I'm
not good enough to do this without several walk throughs. So I opted to just
stick with agility (the fact that poor Zoe had looked like a drowned rat after
the morning's run also played a part in the decision). Our second run was the
most encouraging one since we had hit Intermediate classes. I was so happy with
how she ran. The table was the source of us going over time again but it was so
nice to know that she can have a great run at this level. Since there was no
competition in conformation on Sunday, I decided to stick with agility rather
than race back and forth. The day was much hotter and, while I really don't
think that's the cause, Zoe ran slowly and seemed quite distracted. Definitely
not our best performance. Of course, that's when the Top Dogs cameras were
there to catch the action. Yikes. Preserved for the world to
see.
I've got a lovely set of photos
from the trials thanks to a new photographer that came to the trials (Gary J
Hunt of Edmonton) and will be posting them on Zoe's page in our main website
shortly. For now, here's a cute little one showing her face of determination
heading over the solid jump.
