About Rokeena ...........

I live with my husband, Russell, in a small village called 'Gisborne' which is about a 40 minute drive from the city of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia.

I entered the "Dog Show/Breeding World" in 1972 when I purchased my first Irish Setter (Katie) and my passion for 'Gordons' began a short time later with my first bitch "Ch. Nabside Scotch Thistle", "Lani", who I acquired to keep 'Katie" company.
Never in my wildest dreams did I realise what an incredible journey this first step was going to take me on. I have met some of my dearest and now life-long friends along the way and have had some fantastic adventures travelling around to shows all over Australia and now many other parts of the world. In addition, I have had the privilege of owning some of the most wonderful dogs (some I have been lucky enough to have entrusted to me by other breeders and others that I am proud to have bred).

Now licensed to judge the whole Gundog Group, I am proud to say I originally started my judging career with my Gordon Setter Championship License in 1993. Due to this, I have had the opportunity to judge some beautiful Gordons, not only in Australia, but in New Zealand and the United States.

So, after close to 30 years of many tears and joys, with lots of learning along the way, importing dogs and semen and breeding to many of our lovely Australian Gordons, I have put together some of the journey and the results for you to share with me. Please sign our Guestbook while you're here.
