Grand Ch. ROKEENA BLACK APPOLLO
(Arthur)
Arthur has to be the greatest of all the Rokeena Stars although we've also featured him on our memories page. He has done everything and much more that anyone could ask of a top showdog, winning numerous BIS All Breeds, BIS Specialties, and Top Dog All breeds in South Australia, but his picture says it all. (Arthur was shown to most of his great wins and co owned for a time by Darren Bowey of Bridgewood English Setter fame, together they made a very formidable team. Thank you Darren).
Ch. TAHTAN BLACK LACTITIA
('Annie')
It is with great sadness in my heart I have to say that Annie has now gone. She died peacefully in May 2002 and both Russell and I are still missing her so much. She was a wonderful bitch, who made her presence felt in the show ring right up until only 12 months before she died. To her credit, she made breed history in Australia, by being the only Gordon bitch to win Back to Back BIS All Breeds, and can add BIS Specialty wins and Opposite in Show wins at Breed Specialties to the long list of great achievements she had. I can only thank you 'Anno' for being such a great Gordon and friend for me and having the opportunity of owning and handling you.

Due to Arthur's breeding career being cut short, I found myself without a bitch by him. Consequently I got in touch with Ann and Andrew Finlaison when I heard they had bred their wonderful Arthur daughter, Grand Ch. Tahtan Black Agnes, to his half brother, Grand Ch. Trister Black Vader, and ordered the pick bitch from the litter, a decision I will never regret as this produced one of Australia's finest bitches who has passed her wonderful Gordon type to her sons and daughter.........
Annie is the mother of the three Rokeena puppies who have arrived on the Canadian and US Gordon scene. Already, through these youngsters, I am proud to see Rokeena Gordons in these countries carrying the great characteristics passed on by these two wonderful dogs..
Can.Ch. ROKEENA DOWNUNDER DELITE,
"Erin"
This lovely young bitch is co-owned by me with Bev Holoboff with whom she lives in Canada. Her wonderful movement and solid conformation attained for her her Canadian title in one weekend whilst still a puppy. Look for more of her in the future. While anxiously awaiting the time she can be shown as a mature special, Bev and Erin are biding the time trying their hand at agility. Can. Ch. ROKEENA SWAGMAN,
"Swagger"
Swagger has finally grown up. Whilst he was young, his pretty sisters eclipsed him as he was an awkward adolescent, but, like most lanky teenagers who grow into beautiful adults, so has he and although still not a mature adult, has made his mark on the Canadian show scene by not only adding a Canadian Champion title to his name in a couple of weekends, but collecting a number of Group placements in the process.
Whilst a baby, he was the one puppy that reminded me most vividly of 'Arthur and I had expected and hoped for 'big' things for this fellow's future, which now seems set to happen. He is also co-owned by Bev Holoboff and lives and is loved by her in Canada.
Along with his great start in the showring, Swagger is also demonstrating that he can produce some of the great qualities he inherited from his mother, Annie, and his great grandfather, Arthur, in his puppies to date. Am.Can.Ch. ROKEENA DOWNUNDA WUNDA
"Tori"
Tori is yet another of the litter that Erin and Swagman came from. Suzanne Douglass (previously Ayerst) who lives in Phoenix AZ came to Australia to pick Tori herself. She has never been sorry and although Tori resides mainly with Judith Brown in AB, who handles her and so owns her, Suzanne enjoys having her stay with her for short periods when it is not too hot there, as she did earlier this year when she managed to add " Am.Ch." to the Can title before her name. Tori will continue her show career as a specials bitch in the US towards the end of the year and we are all looking forward to watching her success. She will also add her precious genes to both Suzanne and Judith's already successful kennels in the future.
Aust. Ch. ROKEENA ELIZA BENNET
"Lizzie"
"Lizzie" is owned and loved by Dr. Linda Beer and Matthew Norton. She can now boast the title of "Australian Champion", much to Linda and Matt's delight. She has had many lovely 'Group' wins over other Gundogs along the way to her title and and as you can see now is beginning to coat up and evolve into a very typey, eye-catching, adult Gordon setter. (By the way, Linda is an animal behaviourist Vet here in Australia which helps makes Lizzie a very smart girl. She can even open a refrigerator and get cans of drink out for Linda, even if she does pierce them with her canines and squirt soda all over the room occasionally!)
ROKEENA BALTHAZAR
"Jimmie"
Photo taken at 4 months when he won Baby in Group and Best In Sweeps (All breeds out of 35 puppies) at his first outing. Owned by my husband, Russell Wallis, and handler friend, Jamie Hubbard, Jimmie is from a repeat mating of Swagman, Erin and Tori and like his brother Swagman, has, and is still, going through the lanky growing up period, although it is still easy to see in the latest photo of him at 12 months, his lovely shape that will stay with him when he does finally mature. Good Gordons, are like wine I guess. They take time to mature!.
ROKEENA THE CHARMED ONE
"Chelsea"
Jimmie's sister, Chelsea, owned by Mick and Margaret Nichol of Drumdaroch Kennels in Victoria. Chelsea, like her brother, has also been recognised by the judges, winning a Baby Puppy in Group at only her second show.
